12/16/2021 Shelter-In-Place Lifted SRS

December 16, 2021

Good Morning Families,

At approximately 8:00 am this morning, a student reported hearing a comment regarding a potential threat to school safety at SRS.  Our School Resource Officer was on site and immediately began the investigation. Out of an abundance of caution, a Shelter in Place was called and in-place for approximately 75 minutes.

After interviewing close to 25 students and investigating all leads, it has been determined that there was no threat to the students or staff safety. The Southwick Police Department has determined that the school is not at risk and the shelter in place has been lifted.

We are thankful and appreciative of the student conduct during this time and to the Southwick Police Department for their response.

Thank you

Joe Turmel
